FAQs
How many classes should i or my child attend?
At CCC we recommend a minimum of two classes per week. Many of our members even do two classes back to back on the same day. This is for a number of reasons:
Fitness, physical strength and flexibility. The more that regican to tie the fastes that our results will be in
Confidence - On your second lesson for that week, this will mean that you get a chance to practice all of the skills that you completed in your first session for the week and notice your improvements.
Skill acquisition: the first time you experience the skill you will pick up the basic components and in subsequent classes for the week you will pick up the finer details.
Am i locked into a contract?
At CCC you are not locked in to contract any longer then the two month notice period necessary for changes to payments. That is if for any reason that you wish to stop then you simply give two months and you can stop at any time.
What style of martial arts do i do?
Traditional Wing Chun is a style of kung fu known for its practical efficiency and direct, economical movements.
Wing Chun is associated with close-range combat and is characterised by the emphasis on sensitivity, simultaneous defence and attack, and the use of quick, straight-line punches.
Key principles of Traditional Wing Chun include:
Centreline Theory: Wing Chun practitioners focus on controlling the centerline, which is an imaginary line running down the center of the body. By maintaining control of this line, practitioners aim to dominate the opponent's position and angles.
Economy of Motion: Wing Chun techniques are designed to be simple, direct, and efficient. Unnecessary movements are minimized, allowing practitioners to respond quickly and effectively.
Chi Sao (Sticky Hands): Chi Sao is a training drill unique to Wing Chun, emphasising sensitivity and responsiveness through constant contact with an opponent's arms. This helps practitioners develop their reflexes and understanding of their opponent's movements.
chain punches. wing chun is known for its rapid, straight-line punches delivered in quick succession. often referred to as chain punches. This technique is designed to overwhelm opponents and maintain constant pressure.
5. Trapping and Deflection: Wing Chun places importance on trapping an opponent's limbs and using deflection techniques to redirect attacks. This allows practitioners to control the opponent's movements effectively.
Wing Chun has gained popularity worldwide, and many variations and interpretations of the style exist. While some schools may incorporate additional elements or adapt the techniques to suit different contexts, the core principles of efficiency, directness, and sensitivity remain fundamental to Traditional Wing Chun.
